Upcoming events that could have used the Contoocook Valley Visual and Performing Arts Center as the venue (if it existed) are noted with a (*)!

    • (*) ConVal Drama presents Mary Poppins, Jr. on Thursday, August 2nd at 6 pm, and Friday, August 3rd at 2 pm and 6 pm in the Lucy Hurlin Theatre at ConVal High School, Peterborough. Tickets are available at cvlht.com and at the door for $5.
    • (*) VPAC president Rob Eichler will appear in Firelight Theatre Workshop’s reading of Circle Mirror Transformation ” by Annie Baker on August 21st at 7:30 p.m. at the Guernsey Building in Peterborough.
    • (*) On Friday, October 12th, ConVal VPAC will co-sponsor a one-woman show chronicling local legend Granny D’s walk across America to educate and advocate for campaign finance reform. The show will take place at the Lucy Hurlin Theatre at 7 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door. Proceeds benefit ConVal VPAC and the Coalition for Open Democracy.
    • (*) On Friday, October 26th, Black Fly #7 returns to the Lucy Hurlin Theater at 7:30 p.m. This event features local storytellers (in the style of the national Moth storytelling series on public radio) and never ceases to delight its audiences. Tickets will be available for advance purchase at Toadstool Bookshop, Peterborough, and online at www.convalvpac.org, by October 1st.
    • (*) Nov 8 through Nov 11, 2018 ConVal Drama presents Monty Python’s Spamalot – School Edition – Lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Spamalot retells the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, and features a bevy of beautiful show girls, not to mention cows, killer rabbits, and French people.     • (*) ConVal Drama presents New York by David Rimmer April 11 through April 13, 2019. David Rimmer, a Pulitzer Prize finalist author for Album, originally wrote New York to raise funds for volunteer psychiatrists dedicated to helping the overwhelming number of patients psychologically affected by 9/11. Depicting the reactions of 15 individuals to the events of that day, the characters all speak to a central psychiatrist. The play has been performed at theaters, schools and colleges throughout New York and the Northeast to great acclaim. Tickets are available at cvlht.com
